Different Wines. Different Stories. One Place of Origin.

Our Vineyards. Our Wines. Our Story.

At Monte das Louzeiras, every wine tells a story of our land, our vineyards and our passion for winemaking.
From our classic reds and whites to carefully crafted special editions and the ancient tradition of Vinho da Talha, our wines reflect the diversity of our vineyards and the evolution of our winemaking journey.
Whether matured in barrels or shaped by the centuries-old art of clay amphorae, each wine carries its own character — and a little of the soul of Alentejo.

Rooted in the Alentejo

Our vineyards grow in the rolling landscape of Serra Adiça, surrounded by olive groves and the open countryside of the Alentejo.

Here we cultivate Portuguese and international grape varieties including Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Aragonez, Syrah, Alicante Bouschet, Arinto, Roupeiro and Antão Vaz.

The character of our wines begins here — with the land, the climate and the rhythm of each harvest.

FROM THE HARVEST TO THE ART OF WINEMAKING

From Vineyard to Cellar

Every harvest marks the beginning of a new journey.

At Monte das Louzeiras, we embrace different approaches to winemaking — from classic vinification and barrel ageing to limited special editions and the ancient tradition of Vinho da Talha.

Each method allows us to explore different expressions of our grapes, creating wines with their own character, personality and story.

What unites them is our commitment to the land, careful craftsmanship and the pleasure of sharing the wines we create.

AN ANCIENT TRADITION, STILL ALIVE

Vinho da Talha – 2,000 Years of Wine in Clay

In the Alentejo, the tradition of making wine in clay amphorae dates back more than 2,000 years.

At Monte das Louzeiras, we keep this remarkable heritage alive through our own Talha Adega, where ancient methods become part of our contemporary winemaking journey.

TRADITION, CRAFTSMANSHIP & TIME

The Art of Barrel Winemaking

Alongside our Vinho da Talha tradition, oak barrels have their own place in the winemaking journey at Monte das Louzeiras.

From fermentation in open oak barrels to careful maturation, the interaction between grapes, wood and time brings depth, structure and complexity to our wines.

Each vintage offers new possibilities, allowing us to explore different styles while respecting the natural character of our grapes.

For us, winemaking is not about following a single method, but about finding the right expression for each wine.
